Diverse Educational Life Training Activities, Incorporated (DELTA, Inc.) is a organization that was incorporated in 1994 and received 501 (c)(3) tax exempt status in August 2001. 

DELTA, Inc was established to:

•  Improve the quality of life and promote the social welfare of the residents of the North  Alabama Area through aggressive programs in educational development, economic development, physical and mental health enrichment, and political awareness;

• Engage in such charitable, benevolent, educational, civic, social, cultural, and literary activities as deemed necessary  to promoting the social welfare and improving the quality of life of the residents of Northern Alabama.

PURPOSE

DELTA, Inc.  is a 501 (c) (3) organization whose purpose is to engage in charitable, benevolent, educational, civic, social, cultural, and literary activities. All activities as deemed necessary and incidental to improving the quality of life of the residents of the Northern Alabama area. During our  existence, we have provided or partnered with other charitable organizations with similar missions - to fund and support public service programs with this aim.

Among our activities in the area of Education and Empowerment are: annual Book Stipends for high school seniors who have achieved academically; an annual Empowerment Day designed to be motivational, as well as recreational; the annual college tour for high school girls; and a monthly reading hour targeting elementary school children. In the Social and Cultural arena programming includes a biennial summit which addresses issues confronting African American males, ages 14-17; and activities designed to inform and further the awareness of the community of the plight of those who have been diagnosed and are living with HIV/AIDS.
